Terms of Service
These Terms govern your access to and use of Mix Companion, a service operated by ExtremePlanner Software. By using the service, you agree to these Terms with ExtremePlanner Software.
Important: Mix Companion provides measurement-based listening guidance. It does not replace your judgment, guarantee creative or commercial results, or determine whether a mix is “good.”
1. Eligibility and Accounts
You must be legally able to enter into these Terms and meet the minimum age required where you live. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping sign-in links and account access secure. Provide accurate information and promptly notify us of suspected unauthorized access.
2. The Service
Mix Companion lets users upload audio mix revisions, organize tracks, create section maps, generate listening guides, compare mixes, and review related measurements and reports. Features, limits, and availability may change as the service evolves.
Analysis and reports are informational tools. Audio measurements may be incomplete, approximate, or affected by source material, encoding, arrangement, and playback conditions. You remain responsible for all creative, technical, business, and release decisions.
3. Your Content
You retain ownership of audio and other content you upload. You grant Mix Companion a limited, non-exclusive license to host, copy, process, transmit, and display your content only as needed to provide, secure, maintain, and improve the service.
You represent that you have all rights and permissions needed to upload and process your content. Do not upload content that infringes intellectual-property, privacy, publicity, contractual, or other rights.
4. Acceptable Use
You may not:
- Use the service unlawfully or to violate another person’s rights.
- Upload malicious code or content intended to disrupt or compromise the service.
- Attempt to bypass access controls, usage limits, security measures, or account restrictions.
- Probe, scan, overload, scrape, reverse engineer, or interfere with the service except where applicable law expressly permits it.
- Resell or provide unauthorized third-party access to the service.
We may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect the service, users, or third parties.
5. Plans, Billing, and Cancellation
Mix Companion may offer free and paid plans with different limits and features. Plan details shown when you subscribe form part of these Terms. Paid subscriptions will be processed by Paddle or another disclosed payment provider.
Subscriptions renew automatically until canceled. You may cancel through the available subscription-management tools. Cancellation stops future renewal, and your subscription will remain active until the end of the current billing period. Refund eligibility is described in the Refund Policy below.
When paid access ends, your account may move to a free plan. Existing content will normally remain available, but new uploads or other actions may be restricted by free-plan limits. We will not automatically delete existing content solely because you canceled a paid subscription.
6. Refund Policy
Last Updated: June 2026
Overview
We want you to be satisfied with Mix Companion. If you are not satisfied with your purchase, you may request a refund under the terms below.
Payments for Mix Companion are processed by Paddle, our Merchant of Record. Paddle handles payment processing, taxes, and refund transactions on our behalf.
Subscription Refunds
Initial Subscription Purchases
If you purchase a Mix Companion subscription for the first time, you may request a full refund within 14 days of the purchase date.
To request a refund, contact us and include:
- The email address used for your purchase.
- Your Paddle transaction ID or invoice number.
- A brief description of the issue.
Approved refunds will be processed through Paddle to the original payment method.
Subscription Renewals
Subscription renewals are generally not refundable.
You may cancel your subscription at any time to prevent future renewals. After cancellation, your subscription will remain active until the end of the current billing period.
When Refunds May Be Granted
Refunds may be granted in circumstances including:
- Duplicate charges.
- Incorrect billing amounts.
- Technical issues that prevent normal use of the service and cannot be resolved within a reasonable time.
- Other situations reviewed and approved at our discretion.
When Refunds Are Not Granted
Refunds are generally not provided for:
- Change of mind after significant use of the service.
- Failure to cancel before a renewal date.
- Inability to use the service due to customer hardware, software, or internet issues outside our control.
- Violations of these Terms of Service.
Consumer Rights
Nothing in this policy limits any statutory rights that may apply under local consumer protection laws. Where applicable law provides additional refund or cancellation rights, those rights will be honored.
Refund Processing
Once approved, refunds are issued through Paddle and returned to the original payment method used for the purchase.
Depending on your payment provider, refunds typically appear within 5–10 business days after processing.
Refund Requests and Billing Questions
For refund requests or billing questions, contact support@mixcompanion.com. Please include your Paddle receipt information whenever possible to help us process your request more quickly.
7. Account and Content Deletion
You may delete individual tracks or permanently delete your account using the controls provided in the service. Account deletion removes your Mix Companion account, uploaded content, reports, and associated service data, subject to limited legal, security, billing, and technical-retention requirements described in the Privacy Policy.
Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Canceling a subscription is different from deleting an account.
8. Intellectual Property
Mix Companion, including its software, design, branding, documentation, and generated report formats, is owned by ExtremePlanner Software or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms give you a limited right to use the service; they do not transfer ownership of the service to you.
You may use and share reports generated from your own content, subject to these Terms and the rights of others.
9. Third-Party Services
The service relies on third-party providers for hosting, storage, authentication, email, billing, and related functions. Their services may be governed by separate terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services outside our control.
10. Beta Features and Service Changes
Some features may be labeled beta, preview, or early access. They may be incomplete, change without notice, or be discontinued. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of Mix Companion, and we will provide notice when reasonably practical for material changes affecting paid users.
11. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mix Companion is provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and uninterrupted or error-free operation. We do not guarantee that reports, measurements, or recommendations will be accurate or suitable for your intended use.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ExtremePlanner Software and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunities arising from the service.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for claims relating to the service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid Mix Companion during the 12 months before the claim or US $100. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
13. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend and indemnify ExtremePlanner Software and its operators from claims, damages, losses, and expenses arising from your content, your misuse of the service, or your violation of these Terms or another person’s rights.
14. Termination
You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially violate these Terms, create risk or harm, fail to pay applicable fees, or when required by law. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will remain effective.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms as Mix Companion evolves. We will post revised Terms with a new effective date and provide additional notice when required. Continued use after revised Terms take effect means you accept them.
16. Governing Terms and Contact
Applicable consumer-protection rights remain unaffected. Governing-law and dispute provisions may be added before paid subscriptions become generally available. For questions about these Terms, contact ExtremePlanner Software at support@mixcompanion.com.
